NYU's leading math tutor

The NYU Calculus Expert

I am a professional tutor with an extensive background in mathematics and economics. I started tutoring NYU students in 2010 and quickly discovered that Calculus I is one of the most widely failed courses at NYU. I decided that I would like to help correct that. To date, I have worked with hundreds of students and know the calculus curriculum like no other tutor does. Over the years, I have become one of the most sought-after tutors in New York.

Fall 2023 update: I offer tutoring both in person and remotely.

"Alex invested himself in my success. He truly cared about how I did on my exams and alleviated the stress involved with Calc I and Statistics. I got an A in both (with lots of hard work!) Alex was able to understand the root of why I could not understand something. He had simple and salient examples to get important points across. Aside from that, he is extremely friendly and caring. Two thumbs up :)"

"Alex was my Calculus I tutor and honestly I could not say a bad thing about him. He is a great guy, is more than fully able to teach and allow you to comprehend the material, and he somehow is able to make you interested in a subject that for most people is a complete drag. I have recommended him to a bunch of my friends taking the course and you would be a fool not to use him...hands down best tutor"

"Alex is fantastic. He is the perfect tutor. When I was looking for a tutor for my college level Statistics class I needed someone who was both smart enough to answer my questions in many different ways (IQ) and also personable and patient, someone who knew when to slow down and speed up (EQ). I started the course without even a basic understanding of statistics and with Alex’s help ended up with an A+ in the class (97 overall). He has the ability to break down the material in multiple ways and from many angles until a clear picture is painted in my head. Often we would spend a half hour on a problem type going over the same concept. While other tutors I’ve had in the past often showed signs of frustration after a few minutes of me not understanding their explanations, Alex cared more that I got it right before moving on. Just as important, his knowledge base is very deep. He would pull obscure formulas off the top of his head when working on problems. If you are going to pick a tutor, you will not find one any better than Alex."
